Hospital Indemnity
A Hospital Indemnity plan is insurance that pays cash to you when your sick or injured. Your hard earned savings could be at risk because of an accident or illness that you have no way of predicting or preventing.
Hospital Indemnity insurance is a type of health coverage plan designed to cover hospital stays. Individuals who file a claim can receive a certain amount each day to spend however they choose. Many plans extend coverage to spouses, children, and other dependents.
These hospital indemnity policies are often used along with other insurance coverage, like Medicare Advantage plans, to pay for the entire hospital stay or bill owed.
The plan also acts as a financial backup for some of the out-of-pocket expenses that most health care coverage plans will not cover. Patients can use the money how they see fit and are not limited by the restrictions that come with other health plans.
Coverage is often provided for general hospitalization, intensive care unit, skilled nursing, and emergency room visits. However, you have options to add riders (add-on) to include coverage for:
- Cancer
- Ambulance
- Rehabilitation
- Accidental Death and Dismemberment
A hospital indemnity insurance plan provides cash benefits to use as you see fit. The benefits are predetermined and paid regardless of any other insurance you may have, and you have a choice of applying for basic or a more robust plan.
This plan has no Deductible, no pre-certification and no network requirements. Benefits are payable directly to the individual unless otherwise specified.
